Vote Kristina

The Town of Milton municipal election is in full swing, and I'm proud to share that @Kristinatesserderksen is rerunning for the ward one councillor. I tried to talk her into running for Mayor but was unsuccessful. I'll work on it over the next four years, lol. Since many of my readers are local, I wanted to write something about Kristina that was less political and more personal. Our family has had the privilege of joining Kristina at a few of the many events she attends each year, and I always leave with the same thoughts. She truly embraces all the residents of Milton from all walks of life, faiths, and ages. She takes the time to listen to everyone who approaches her, and sometimes these conversations go on for so long that I wander off. She cares and always does her best! If she doesn't have the answer to a solution, she will dedicate herself to finding one. If you know her, you know that family and community are essential, and she leads with those in mind.

The time Kristina spends volunteering goes far beyond the pretty pictures that are posted on social media. She spends countless hours setting up events, directing traffic, cleaning garbage, and sometimes finds herself in the dunk tank for charity. She actively supports local businesses daily, including the agricultural economy in our rural areas, because she knows how important it is to invest in our community, especially during the pandemic when big corporations profited immensely, and small businesses suffered.

Ward 1 is the most significant in Milton because it covers the historic downtown area. We need to make sure its small-town feel is preserved. We need someone who spends summer evenings strolling the streets with her family, eats in all the local restaurants and knows all the owners by name, the same voice of reason we have come to depend on.

If you see Ninni & Nonno out there putting it up, make sure you say "Hi." They love to chat!

Happy Saturday!
