Fall Style - Sweaters

I know most of you are not ready for the long warm summer days to end, but Fall is just around the corner, and with so many brands releasing their fall lines, I couldn't resist making a few purchases. Fall style is my favourite style! I splurge during this season on good quality sweaters. I buy 2 or 3 a year to add to my collection, and I'm quite impressed with the way it is looking.

Like everything in life, a little love goes a long way. Here are my tips for keeping your sweaters looking new season after season.

  1. Never hang sweaters, the hanger changes the shapes and stretches them out. I fold them envelop style and put them in my drawer.

  2. Only wash when needed. I try to go the whole season only washing once or twice.

  3. Wash by hand or dry clean. When I wash by hand, I fill the sink with lukewarm water and a TBS of natural laundry soap. I let the sweater soak for 30 mins then bring to the side, and gently squeeze against the sink wall drain the water and refill; I do this until all the soap is gone. Once the water is clear, push out as much water as you can from the sweater, lay it on a towel, gently roll it up, and move it back and forth a few times. Then I transfer to a new towel and lay it flat to dry completely.

  4. Store CLEAN sweaters only. I store my sweaters in vacuum-sealed bags in the closet during the summer months. When I'm ready to get my fall clothes back out, I steam the sweaters, and they look new.

  5. Don't spray perfume directly onto your sweater and never spray your hair with hairspray or dry shampoo while wearing your sweater.

I'm sure it won't be a surprise that all the sweaters in my hand are from Aritzia. They are pricey, but as I said, I've been collecting for the last few years, and I can honestly say they are worth the money I've spent on them.

  1. Wilfred Montpellier Sweater I wear XS in this style. I have it from last year in a brown colour. I don’t see the colour this year by the dry green basil is on my Christmas list….. hint hint, Anthony.

  2. Wilfred Cyprie Sweater I wear XS in this style, I bought it this year in Light Roebuck.

  3. The Group by Babaton Thurlow Sweater I wear XXS in this style as it stretches out. I have it in a few colours; they are all gorgeous.

  4. BabatonChalmers Sweater I wear XS in this style, I bought this last year but I see it back this year. I have it in Espace.

  5. Wilfred Free Rourke Sweater I wear XXS in this style. I have two, one from 2 years ago and one from last year. This sweater was a staple in my maternity wardrobe. I love it for so many reasons, especially the pockets.

I've had my eye on a few other affordable styles to wear around the house with the kiddos this winter. I'll link them below if you are looking for cheaper options than the ones I've recommended above.

If you have any style or fit questions, let me know in the comments below, and I'll do my best to answer them.

Thank you for stopping by!
