Apple Crisp

Apple Crisp is one of the easiest Fall desserts to prepare; it's also one of our favourites. I make mine with extra oats, so it's basically breakfast.

Ingredients:

  • 4-6 apples (cored and cut into slices)

  • 2 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp nutmeg

  • 1/4 cup butter or coconut oil (At room temperature)

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 3 tsp baking powder

  • 2 cups of oats

  • 1/4 cup flour (brown rice, GF blend, All-purpose)

  • Chopped nuts (optional)

Directions:

  1. Preheat over to 350 Degrees Fahrenheit

  2. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray or grease with butter or coconut oil (Mine was an oval approximately 9" long)

  3. Toss apples in 1/2 cup of sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, and arrange in baking dish.

  4. Mix flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon.

  5. Add in butter or coconut oil and mix with your hands or a pastry cutter until crumbly.

  6. Evenly spread the crumble over the apples and bake until golden brown and bubbly, about 30 mins.

Serve warm with Vanilla Ice cream.
