Thanksgiving Table
I missed the boat getting this up in time for our Thanksgiving in Canada, but next weekend it's Thanksgiving in the US and the official start of the holiday season. Who else watches the Macy's Day parade?
Since a lot of my readers live in the US, I thought I would share some detailed photos of our tablescape this year. I love how simple, fresh florals, white pumpkins, and linen look on a set table.
Our gatherings have a mix of adults and children. I try to keep the decor fun for everyone. A spill or two is bound to happen; to keep cleanups easy, I rarely use a table cloth or runner. Sometimes, I use my centerpiece as a "runner."
Using fresh florals is a great way to keep the budget low and have something new every year. Storage is an issue for us. There's no way I could have bins of Fall decor hanging around. I love that everything is compostable and won't end up in a landfill when it's broken or no longer in style.
If you are in the market for some new dishes, I can't suggest a simple set of everyday white enough! I use my collection for all my tablescapes. Sometimes changing up the look by adding a new salad plate. I have a variety of linen napkins for every occasion. If you have a few extra dollars to spend, I would splurge on some good quality napkins.
However you spend your Thanksgiving weekend, I hope it's filled with good food and people that you love — looking forward to seeing all your tablescapes. If this blog has inspired your decor, I would love for you to tag me using the hashtag #tessertraditions or send me photos.
Happy Thanksgiving, Friends.
