SPRING DRESSES
Good Morning!
I'm a little late getting Tuesday's blog up, but here it is! I'm sure by now you know my go-to for dresses is Aritzia. I've been shopping there for years and have never been disappointed with the quality of my purchase. I've been buying most of my clothes from their website since last year, and I always end up with something I love, sometimes a few more things than I budgeted for, lol, but I've had dresses and Rompers for years, and they are still in style, and even look like new. A little love and proper cleaning go a long way.
I don't wear prints or patterns often, I prefer neutral colours to put an outfit together quickly, but this new "Bone/ Heirloom Pink" is so gorgeous I ended up with two dresses in this print. For years I was late to events and family gatherings because I didn't like how I looked in any of my clothes. I usually arrived stressed out, self-conscious, and uncomfortable, so now I plan! Before I buy any dresses for more than $50, I plan out where I'll wear them. The shirt dress is for Mother's Day, and the Elba Dress is for Kendall's birthday. I bought her a similar one from Mango so we can match. I generally wear XS in dresses, but in the shirt dress, I sized up to Small, and in the Elba dress, I sized down to 2XS
I love the new shadow blue colour; Im a sucker for blue. I could only find the shirt dress in this colour, so I ordered it, but I'm keeping the tags on until I sell a few of the dresses sitting in my closet. I bought a set of hangers three years ago, and my rule is that I can only have what will fit in my closet. If I want something new, something old needs to be sold or donated. I sized up to a small one because I wanted a bit of room in the midsection. Oh! And I forgot this dress has pockets.
A can't resist a little white dress—the perfect date night outfit. I bring a jean jacket with me if the patio gets a little cold, but usually, my glass of wine keeps me warm, lol. My goodness, I miss date night and wine, I think we had one last summer, and that was it. I'm hoping for many this summer. I sized up to a 4 in this style.
Every Year I add a new Romper to my collection. I sold one last year, so with this new blue one, I'm up to 4. I love these rompers! The fabric is lightweight and hangs so nicely. They wash well and keep their shape. When Anthony is home in the summer, we usually take long day trips. I love when we head no Niagara on the lake with the kids. We spend the day at the park and the little beach area, and then we head to the main street for a late lunch or dinner. I almost always wear a romper on those days because they don't show any sweat or stretch out, anything dirt or marks from the kids brush off quickly, and by changing my shoes from flip flops to heels, it makes me feel dressed up and classy for sit down restaurants. I sized up to a 4 in this style. I usually wear 0/2 in rompers, but because of the open back, I wanted more room, the top part is a little big on me, so I may get it altered. I'll let you guys know if I do.
I buy a new purse every spring. It's something I've always done! The new Spring / Summer collection from Matt and Nat has so many pretty designs. I love this new Opal colour. I think I'm going to order the Triplet Crossbody, but I'm not 100% sure yet. Which one is your favourite?
Spring is in 25 days, and I'm extra excited this year!
