How To Order A Sofa From Ikea Without The Cover

Savvy shoppers rejoice. I'm here to tell you it is possible to order a sofa, chair, or loveseat from Ikea without the cover. Why would you order furniture without a cover, you ask? To save yourself some money so that you can upgrade your inexpensive piece of furniture to look and feel like a luxurious splurge.

I've been posting sneak peeks of my new sofa over on Instagram for the last two weeks, and every time I do, I get a tone of DMS asking where I got it. It's from IKEA! With three kids, a husband, and a messy little pup, a washable sofa is the only way to keep things nice and clean. I've been down this road before, I had the Farlov and loved it for a few years, but the skirt pulling always drove me crazy, so last fall, when I had a twitch to switch, I sold it and ordered a different Ikea model. The second it showed my I held my breath and tried to figure out a way to love it. I was worried Anthony would try to return me if I didn't. I stuck it out for a few months but ended up cashing in on the 365-day policy love it or return to Ikea. They were terrific about the return, and for a measly $50, they picked up all 21 pieces and gave me a full refund.

I knew I didn't want Ikea’s covers, they are okay, but I was spoiled by the Bemz ones I had in the past and decided to order the sofa without the cover. I wanted to put the $200 towards a cover I wanted (I'll share all the details of my beautiful covers in another blog.)

I knew there had to be a way to buy just the sofa online. After a few hours of trial and error, I did it! I was worried they would flag and cancel my order, but it showed up a few days later, just as I ordered.

Head over to Ikea and choose your region. Add the Sofa or chair you want to your cart. Scroll towards the bottom until you find the article numbers.

Once you have located the product numbers, copy each one separately with the decimals, and google it with the word Ikea.

Add to your cart, and there you go! Don't forget to make sure you triple-check the article numbers to make sure you have all the pieces necessary to assemble your sofa. The Farlov comes with one base and a SET of two arms. They also have one arm available so make sure you have two.
