FARM BOY FAVOURITES

If you follow me on Instagram, you know how much I love Farm Boy. We have one in the next town, about 20 minutes from our house. There are a few reasons why this is my favourite place to shop.

  1. The layout of the store is perfect! It's smaller with fewer choices than the bigger stores, but their branded products are superior.

  2. They carry AFFORDABLE organic and Gluten-Free products.

  3. They have clear, efficient labels.

  4. They offer healthy products at AFFORDABLE prices.

  5. Everyone who works there is friendly, they are helpful, and when I hear them speaking to each other, they are encouraging and kind.

  6. They are Canadian.

Let's get started! I'll try my best to remember and be accurate on the prices, but I might be off by a dollar or two; if you are planning a trip there but don't have a lot of time, head over to their website and look at the "private label" section for ingredients etc.

First and foremost, my favourite load the cart and stock the pantry with a year supply just in case is their Popcorn. 3 ingredients, and it's so yummy—$ 5.99 for the bag.

Coconut milk or cream is my favourite for baking. It doesn't change the flavour at all. The cans range from $1.99 - $2.99 and it’s organic.

Organic nut butter is the ultimate treat around here; from snacking to baking, we go through A LOT. The crunchy peanut butter is my favourite. Only $5.99 per jar... Stock up and try them all.

Anthony loves pizza. It was one of the things he found hardest to give up when he went Gluten-Free. The Cauliflower crust is yummy. The kids have no idea it's vegetables. Vegan, Gluten- Free and holds up on the BBQ well. They have pre-made ones and plain crusts that you can make your pizza with. I think it's $6.99 for a package of 2 plain crusts, and I believe the pre-made pizzas are $9.99.

Maple Syrup and Honey are what I use for sweetening my baked goods and making sauces. Both products can get expensive, and I prefer to buy them locally. The honey is $5.99 per jar, and the Maple Syrup is $8.99 (I think.)

We usually buy our pasta sauce from La Rose in town. It is by far my favourite, but I buy a few jars of tomato and basil when I'm shopping at Farm Boy to have in a pinch. $1.99-$2.99 per jar.

The dark chocolate covered pretzels don't last long in our house. I buy us each a bag, but Anthony usually ends up eating mine too. They are Gluten-Free and delicious; get these you won't be disappointed—$ 4.99 per pack.

The ice cream sandwiches are not Gluten-Free. We buy them for the kids. They have a few different kinds; they are all good, according to them.

Grilling Sauces and Spices (read labels on each to make sure they are Gluten-Free. Some have wheat to thicken) Clean sauces and spices made without preservatives and yucky ingredients you don't need. They taste as good as they smell. I usually add water or stock to the sauces when I'm cooking to make them last longer. Prices range.

Gluten-Free baked goods that don't taste like cardboard or are overly sweet are hard to find. Farmboy carries quite a few that are good. Brownies are my favourite, we all love them—$ 7.99 per package.
