No Spend April

IMG_8005.JPG

I love turning something old into something new and always have. Social media tells us that we need to buy new to keep up with the Jones. It's hard not to fall into the over-purchasing trap; I am guilty of it, especially this last year. During April, I've decided to go on a spending freeze and avoid buying anything that isn't necessary. Instead, I'm going to shop my home and upcycle what I'm not loving. I'll share everything on the blog, even the small projects.

First up is my vintage mason jars; they are my go-to for fresh blooms. Lately, I haven't been using the collar because the blue-ish metal felt blah to me. I've been loving the little pops of gold I've been adding to all the white in our home and thought a gold collar would look perfect. A few minutes and a bit of @rustoleumca spray paint, it looks modern and new.

The bunny is made from our old media console that's been collecting dust in the basement. I made a bunny template, cut it out on the @cricut_ca, traced it onto the board, cut it on the scroll saw and sanded it to give a worn look.

I would love for some of you to join me on a spending freeze and a month filled with being creative and repurposing what you already have in your home. Who's in? maybe we can trade a few ideas!
