The Dining Room + My Gorgeous Table

Hi Friends,

Happy Friday! The Dining Room refresh is finally finished . It feels so light and airy, I'm really happy with the way it turned out. I took a lot of pictures and couldn't possibly decide which to post, so I'll post them all and tell you about each one as I go along. The paint is the same colour as the whole main floor. "Coastal Beige" Our main floor is like most new homes in Milton, it's open concept. I love the flow and didn't want to interrupt it by changing colours. The cabinet was painted a few months ago in "Antique White" milk paint by General Finishes. The inside is painted in "Ash" mineral paint by Fusion. Normally I wouldn't paint the inside of a cabinet dark but I was painting to compliment my grandmothers dishes.

The curtain rods are the same ones we've always had but we painted them to match the lamps in the living room . Aren't my matching benches exceptional ? You might be thinking Anthony made them but he didn't. My sweet friend Ashleigh made them for me in record time. She knew Anthony was likely to change his mind about allowing me to pay someone to make something for our home. I really love them, they fit perfectly and provide additional seating for our large family dinners.

True to my nature I changed my mind the next day and added an old frame and my Fathers clock to the top of the hutch.

The chairs are from Bouclair. I did have the Ikea ones with the washable covers, but unfortunately 4 didn't fit comfortably under the table. I really had my heart set on 4 chairs and a bench, so I had to compromise with myself and get these. To be honest, I do like the Ikea ones a lot better and I found the quality to be better as well. These ones are ok for now but don't be surprised if you see new ones around the holidays.

Before I give you a full shot of this gorgeous table I wanted to show off my favorite parts. I still can't believe Anthony made this masterpiece. It's exactly how I visioned . I'm so proud of him, honestly that man can do anything he puts his mind too.

Taking a good picture of an 8 foot table is extremely hard, but I tried my best.

Again getting the whole room in a picture was a challenge but I think you all get the idea. We used the Sansin Stain line. I always prefer this line for a number of reasons.

  1.  Its water based

  2.  It dries fast...very fast!

  3.  It doesn't smell

  4.  Its Canadian

  5.  It cleans up with water

The colour we used is "Provincial" Its available over at Bergsma's on the main street. They have a variety of small sample cans and a detailed display so be sure to check them out when your looking for stain for your next project.

Anthony has promised me a new bench, fingers crossed I get it before the hail season starts in Canada ;) hint , hint Tony!! xo

I think that's about it. Thank you all so much for taking the time to read and for all your sweet comments. I think Anthony is still blushing from all the comments we received yesterday via social media. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

- Megan xoxo
