HALLOWEEN BOOKS FOR KIDS

A bedtime routine is something Anthony and I established early on when we started our family. Reading books to and now with our babies before we tuck them in at night has become special to us. When Anthony is home, I usually make him read. We all gather on our bed and cozy up. I love it when he reads to us, and it's one of the things I miss most when he's away. Every holiday or occasion is one to be celebrated around our house. I have fond memories of my mom making these times special for us, and I enjoy doing it for my kiddos. The kids get so excited when I get our seasonal books out. This year I bought a few new ones to add to our collection. I didn't think I would have any more babies, so I gave away all my little board books. The big kids love reading to Bennett, so I picked up a few at Indigo last week. I also picked up "5 Minute Halloween Stories" for nights we are running behind schedule, Kendall demands a two-book minimum, and when she picks, it usually takes us 30 mins or more to read them lol.

We can always agree on a Berenstain Bears book. Every book shares a lesson, and I love that they are faith-based. I think the kids especially like them because The Bear Family and our family share similarities. Family of 5, with a fur baby. Mama Bear stays home with the cubs, and Papa bear makes furniture. If only we lived in a tree, lol.

What is your family's nightly routine? Does it include a book? I would love to hear it.
