Thanksgiving Tablescape πŸ‚

I’m always a little behind sharing Thanksgiving inspiration for the Canadian Thanksgiving, but I usually have it together around the time My American friends are celebrating Thanksgiving, so today, I thought I would share with you how I set my table for our family gathering.

Sometimes I plan out my tablescapes, and sometimes I wing it. I always try to have something fresh and in season on the table.

I used to have a cupboard full of different dishes for different seasons and occasions, but over the years, I've sold off most of that collection and only use my classic white dishes; sometimes, I bring out my  Blue flower dishes. I love them too much to part with. I sold most of my coloured napkins and only have white and beige ones now because they are much easier to clean and photograph. I have been looking for some beautiful embroidered napkins for Christmas, and I would love suggestions if you have any. It’s taken me a few years, but I’m finally in a place of balance when it comes to my tabletop decor. I like to keep everything simple and clean, and the colours and textures I add are seasonal. Tablecloths have been growing on me, and I think I might buy one for Christmas. I’ll share all the details if I do. When I start setting the table, I always start with the centrepiece first, then I add in the plates and napkins, the cutlery, the glassware, and then the other little touches. I think about the time; there are so many things that I love about hosting. It is a lot of work at times, but the feeling I have when everyone is sitting around the table, enjoying something I’ve created especially for them, is irreplaceable.

I hope this blog inspires you to set the table and gather around with people you love.
