AmazonBasics Enameled Cast Iron Covered Dutch Oven Review

One day I'll have a Le Creuset, one day when spending $500 on a "pot" doesn't sound insane...or maybe it always will, lol. I know they last a lifetime, but I have commitment issues with kitchenwares. Two years ago, I bought the Amazon basics dutch oven, and I love it so much that I thought it was worthy of a review. I use this pot twice a week in the fall in winter months; I think it's held up well, especially since it's under $100.00!

It's very heavy! And comes in 3 sizes. I have the 6 quart, and it's perfect for our family of 5. I did buy the 7.5, but it was HUGE. I could barely carry it, so I returned it for the smaller size, but it's not small at all. I can roast a whole chicken with vegetables. They wash well, and I've never had issues with burning. The bottom is heavy and perfect for scraping littles bits of roasted onions and garlic. You can use the pot on all oven tops and in the oven! Perfect for roasting meat in the oven and then putting the pot on the stovetop with the juices to make gravy.

Because it gets so much use, it gets dirty! To keep it clean and from staining, I use Norwex cleaning paste on it every few months. Add a little water and rub in a circular motion with a wet rag or paper towel. I use it on the inside and the outside of all my pots and pans.

There are a few chips around the rim, but it's probably because I've dropped the lid on the pot a few times. Overall I think this is one of my cheapest most valuable kitchen items. It's functional and beautiful. I have a few pieces from this collection, and I'm happy with them all.

I hope this review helps save you some money and inspires you to get cooking.
